“Honestly, I just got too many hours of sleep last night, I think that I’m a little too well rested,” said absolutely no one on planet Earth circa the 21st century.
We were already overworked and under-rested to start with, but who could’ve predicted that the emergence of COVID-19 would put our notoriously unbalanced work-life situations into full tilt, maximum overdrive? Nobody, that’s who. But that doesn’t mean we weren’t all left to pick up the pieces as we coined terms like ‘overemployed’—having more than one fulltime job simultaneously—and redefined the job duties of being a parent to include k-12 teaching and full-time extracurricular entertainment and supervision.
And granted, things got better after a little while. Schools reopened and after-school services started allowing groups of children—albeit smaller, and therefore more expensive groups—to join their venues once again. Working from home became a common solution and precisely none of us missed the long, daily commutes in heavy traffic which we’d been forced to accept.
And then the recession hit. The majority of Americans have had no choice but to cling to the swinging pendulum of our daily expectations; one day we’re joining the ‘Great Resignation’, the next we’re reapplying to our old job due to layoffs at the new one and being labeled ‘Boomerang Employees’. They say it’s a jobhunters market out there, but if that’s the case, then why are all of our workplaces so shortstaffed? Why is everyone being stretched to their absolute limits?
I’m afraid we don’t have the answers to such large questions ourselves, we are, after all, just trying to make it through each day just like you. But one thing is obvious: our schedules got longer, our stress levels higher, and more demands are placed on us all the time—but somehow we still need to carve out those precious 8 hours of sweet, glorious shut-eye at the end of the day. The problem is, that many of us don’t have that luxury.
What do we have? Chronic stress, insomnia, sleep apnea, depression, anxiety, loud neighbors, you name it! And the real kicker is that a lot of these things are really only helped by the one thing they cause to elude you: a good night’s sleep. (Maybe a good month’s sleep is more like it.)
Enter the vast array of cannabis products that many people have not even heard of, let alone considered as a way of achieving a better night’s rest and the sense of wellbeing that follows. And spoiler alert: there’s a buy 2-get 1 deal for KIVA and special Dabwoods live resin disposable vape promotion that you’re not going to want to miss. But we digressed, so back to the matter of all of those awesome products that can totally boost your sleep game which up until now, you may have been missing out on. Most folks know about flower and joints, and a lot of adults are well-versed in the use of concentrates and edibles as well. The emergence of micro-dosing as a trend is evidence enough of that!
But are you aware that there are edibles that are specifically geared towards achieving a deep, restorative sleep? Have you heard about sublinguals, drops or tablets that you place under the tongue rather than smoking? Were you aware that you could drink your THC or consume it in capsule form just like a multi-vitamin? If you answered ‘no’ to any of these, read on to learn how you can use various forms of THC to enhance your night’s rest with products that will make five hours of snoozing feel like eight.
